If you’re not interested in reading somebody else’s commentary on your way through your Dales Way adventure, support your OS maps with Gemmell and Speakman’s continuous strip map. The man who really speaks with the long distance walker’s voice is Paul Hannon. Anthony Burton writes in the context of his authoritative on-page OS maps. There is an impressive clarity to Alistair Wallace’s route finding instructions. For overflowing love of the experience, go with Terry Marsh, and if perchance you have a notion to come at your experience from the north you will enjoy Ron Shaw.
