Bridge House is situated amidst the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales, only 2 miles from the centre of the old market town of Sedbergh in the historic hamlet of Brigflatts. The house set in rural surroundings with open views over the fells, is a 17th century stone barn with oak beams and many other interesting features. We offer a warm welcome and very comfortable accommodation which comprises Downstairs: A private wing, of two bedrooms – one twin and one double with vanity units, a shared bath / shower rooms and separate toilet. The facilities are suitable for the disabled, as they are all on one level with easy access to all ground floor amenities. All rooms have tea making facilities and shaver points. Guests have their own sitting room with television and dining area, the property is fully central heated and very comfortable. We are able to offer a three course evening meal and packed lunch by prior arrangement. Vegetarian and Coeliac diets are catered for. We are pleased to accommodate children over 12 but we do not have family room facilities available.

The hamlet of Brigflatts is home to the oldest ‘Friends Meeting House’ in the North of England c1675 and was where George Fox – founder of the Quaker movement spent the night in the attic of a weavers cottage prior to preaching to a three thousand strong gathering on the top of Firbank Fell. The site is now a favorite walk known as ‘Fox’s pulpit’
The area is dominated by the mighty Howgills and is a mecca for outdoor pursuits. We are situated on the long distance ‘Dales Way’ walk and are within easy reach of the eastern Dales. As well as being a convenient day trip away from the wonderful country of the lakes.
We are only 5 miles off the M6 motorway (exit 37) and are very conveniently placed for an overnight stop as we are half way north/south of the country.
