Goodies Farmhouse

This lovely old farmhouse dates back to the 1600's and nestles in an acre of wooded gardens overlooking the range of high fells known as the Howgills. Guests are invited to use the beautiful lounge that has a wealth of old oak beams, oak floors and welcoming log fires. 
Dining is around a 17th Century oak refectory table and guests are treated to generous helpings of delicious home cooked meals after a good day's walking. There are two bedrooms for guests' use: a 5' BED DOUBLE ROOM with spectacular views of the fells and a spacious, newly installed en-suite shower room (Mira shower, toilet, wash-hand basin and terracotta tiled floor) and a TWIN-BEDDED room with pleasant country views and adjacent to the main bathroom (bath, Mira shower, toilet and wash-hand basin).

With 3' thick stonewalls, the farmhouse is warm in winter with central heating and open fires and cool in summer. Drying facilities are good and there is always hot water for baths and showers.
There are books to read, TV to watch, magazines to browse through, or the opportunity to sit and chat in the gardens or on the terrace taking in the wonderful views.
Guests are always made very welcome; it is nice to share a lovely place and fun to exchange travellers' tales.
Evening meals are available upon request and guests are offered a cooked breakfast with prize-winning Cumberland sausage. A lighter breakfast menu is also available.
Rates: From £25 to £30 per person per night for bed and breakfast. Vegetarians
happily catered for.
