Romany Cottage nestles opposite the village green in the tiny Dales village of Buckden in Upper Wharfedale.

We have long open views up beautiful Langstrothdale, face Birks Fell at the front and have the lower slopes of Buckden Pike at our back door. Set off in any direction and you are in beautiful countryside. Track, path, road, ridge or meadow, the choice is yours.

We are on three major walks, the Dales Way, Inns Way and Lady Anne's Way and are also ideally sited for road or mountain cyclists. We have parking space for cars, garaging for cycles. Linear walking breaks with maps, lunches and a lift either out from or back to our cottage can be arranged.

Romany Cottage is three past the Buck Inn and two before the Shop and Licensed Cafe which along with the Tea Rooms offer all types of meals. Excellent packed lunches are available by arrangement.

Children over 12yrs are welcome and we can accommodate one well-behaved non-moulting dog by arrangement!

Accommodation is offered on a Bed & Breakfast basis, with hot and cold drinks on arrival plus homemade cake, for up to six persons in 2 twin and 1 double room.

All are centrally heated with washbasins, colour TVs and have hospitality trays. There is a bath, shower and two WC's. The water is hot, the towels soft and Radox optional!

We can dry you if you get wet, warm you if cold and cool you down if the sun is too hot!

Full English Breakfast is our speciality, using local produce and making everything ourselves as far as possible, the choice is as wide as Gwens' imagination - vegans or vegetarians, no problem!

Our charges for Bed &, Breakfast are from £24 per person with a £5 supplement if the room is taken as a single.

Linear walking breaks are £85pp for 3 nights based on two sharing a double or twin-bedded room.
